What Is a Custom Frameless Shower Enclosure?
A custom frameless shower enclosure is a glass shower made to measure for your bathroom from heavy 10mm tempered glass, with no metal frame around the panels. The glass is held by minimal hinges and clamps, or by a slim channel at the wall and curb. It makes a bathroom look bigger, shows off the tile, and is far easier to keep clean than a framed door.
Shower glass replacement means taking out an old enclosure, often a dated framed sliding unit or a green-edged frameless one, and installing a new custom enclosure in its place. It is also what we do in new and renovated bathrooms once the tile is in.

Choosing the Glass
Clear vs Starphire low-iron. Standard clear glass has a visible green tint on its edges. On a 10mm panel, that green line shows. Starphire low-iron glass removes it, so the panels look like they are barely there and white or marble tile stays white. For most of our Rosedale, Forest Hill and Yorkville clients, Starphire is the default.
Patterns and finishes. Clear is the most popular, but we also supply acid-etched, frosted bands for privacy, and grey or bronze tinted glass for darker bathrooms.
Easy-clean coatings. EnduroShield is a permanent coating that makes water bead and run off, which slows down hard water spotting.
Choosing the Hardware
Hardware does more than look good. It carries the weight of the door. We use Dorma and Blumcraft hinges and clamps rated for 10mm doors, fixed into blocking behind the tile or into proper wall anchors. Finishes include chrome, brushed and polished nickel, matte black, brass and bronze patina, so the shower matches your faucets.
Why We Template After Tile
Walls are never perfectly plumb, and curbs are sloped on purpose to drain water. If an enclosure is measured from drawings or before tile goes on, the glass will not match the real opening, and the gaps either leak or the panels do not fit at all. We laser-template the finished opening, record every out-of-plumb wall, and order glass to match. That is how we hit a 7-14 day window from template to a tight, dry install.
