Started on a Bank Tower, Built for the Break-In at 2am
Ryan Vukovic started glazing in 2002 on the Royal Bank Plaza re-skin, swapping gold-coated curtain wall units on one of the most recognisable towers in downtown Toronto. Commercial work taught him two things: glass has to be specified exactly, and nobody trusts a glazier who cannot put the spec in writing.
In 2010 he moved into residential IGU and shower glass, and saw how badly the homeowner side of the trade was run. Vague quotes, "next week" lead times that stretched into months, insurance claims where the homeowner fronted thousands and argued with the adjuster over an $800 gap. Board-ups that were a sheet of cardboard and a promise.
He built Elite Glass Repair Toronto around fixing that. The written 2-year workmanship warranty, printed on every invoice. Published CAD prices instead of "call for a quote". And the insurance direct-bill paperwork the crew has now used on more than 500 Intact and Aviva claims, so homeowners and storefront owners pay their deductible and nothing more. Ryan has been a CGMA member since 2008, and he still runs the dry-fit and spec match on the jobs that need it most.
Today the day-to-day work is done by the crew: a 4-6 person team working out of Vaughan across Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Brampton, Richmond Hill, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke and Oakville.
